Looking out the window at the snow that was now nearly a foot deep, I couldn’t help but feel a tad giddy. This morning’s snow flurries had turned into a snow shower and here we were.

“Ezra,” I pleaded to the dark haired man behind me watching TV, “put your coat on, we’re going out.”

“Out? Out where?” He tossed the words casually over his shoulder.

“To play in the snow. It looks like the kind of snow we could make a snowman out of.”

The couch creaked and then his footsteps padded across the floor until I felt his presence behind me. His arms twined around me and he pulled me back against him. I tilted my head to look up at him.

“You wanna build a snowman?” he jested with a cute smile. I wiggled out of his hold, pushing lightly at him. He laughed, capturing my hands and pulling me into him once more. “I’ll build a snowman with you, Westbrook.”

“Westbrook, huh? Should I start calling you Collins, then?”

His hands lowered to my hips, fingers splaying over my butt. “I don’t care what you call me.” He burrowed his head against my neck. “Because at the end of the day I’m yours and you’re mine. That’s the only label I need.”

“I love it when you talk swoony to me,” I joked, smiling when his stubble tickled my sensitive neck.

He released me and I grabbed my sweatshirt, then my coat, piling on the layers to go out in the cold. Ezra did the same and then we ran out, laughing like two little kids, into the snowy front yard.

“This is so fun!” I cried, packing snow together so I could start rolling it.

“Aren’t you cold?” Ezra accused, eyeing me on my knees in the snow.

“No pain, no gain,” I quipped. “I wear heels on the daily, a little cold won’t kill me.”

He shook his head, black curls bouncing. “You’re crazy.”

But he bent down beside me in the snow, so who was the real crazy one?

As I worked on making the three tiers for the snowman I couldn’t help thinking about how out of our group of friends, we were the only ones without kids. Not that I was ready for kids, but it put Ezra and me at a different point in our life than they were. Their lives now revolved around all things baby and kids, while we were still all about each other. I guess you could say we were still in the honeymoon period of our relationship.

No wonder we’ve had so much sex the past couple of days. There’s nothing else to do when you aren’t preparing for Santa to visit.

“We need clothes and stuff for our snowman,” I pouted, realizing I hadn’t thought about grabbing any of that before we rushed outside.

“I’ll go grab some things.” Ezra hopped up and ran into the house.

He probably just wanted to get into the warm house for a few minutes. Wimp.

I fixed the snowman’s head in place, then waited with my hands on my hips for him to return.
